Very nice helmet. I am impressed that it meets both DOT and ECE standards. To my knowledge, it is the first one to do so. It is pricey; but the solid color version is $400.00 - $50.00 less than the version tested.

I just got back from the foot/ankle doc. I do have a hairline fracture;but there is no displacement of the bone. The ligaments in the foot are pretty badly stretched and damaged, so recovery will be a little slow. They put me in a walking boot that is pumped up with air to provide support and protection. I am to gradually put more weight on the foot and let the pain be my guide. I am still to keep it elevated as much as possible for the next week. No riding until after next Friday's followup visit. However, I can drive - but not according to nurse Mae Lyne! I can remove the walking boot for ease of showering. I figure in about three weeks I will be down to a splint and then I can safely ride.

Glad to hear that things aren't worse than they are, Carl.
I know what you mean about the ligaments being stretched and damaged.
My right hand took a big hit when I crashed last July and I'm still having trouble with it.
I broke three bones in the hand and wrenched all the tendons and ligaments. When I wake up in the morning my hand is like a claw until I soak it in hot water and perform some exercises. Once it's limbered up I'm usually good for the day.
You have a partner i crime my friend and I know exactly what you're going through.
This is when we realize we're not as young as we used to be :ya2:

You have that right!!! I feel like I should be well next week!! :y114:

That is good news Carl.
I had a similar ankle injury about 25 years ago (I was young then). It took me about a week or two with the splinted air cast and I was almost as good as new. It did ultimately limit the range of movement in that the ankle that was broken will not move as far, or easily, as the uninjured one even to this day.

Carl.....let pain be ya guide...that don't mean hey it don't feel that painfull and jump on a bike.

Glad ya feeling some what better though mate.

Ride Safe (When ya can WITHOUT pain)

Listen Carl, ya old fart.....take your time and let it heal well. You can't start chasing the neighborhood ladies up and down the street until the doc says so.....

Looking forward to seeing you and MaeLyne on Saturday.
