Wanna hear a funny story Carl? Speaking about waiting to ride, well, when i was 16 on my first bike, a honda 160, i crashed into a PARKED car. Yes, i know, i WAS an idiot. (please, no jokes about the word "was :)) Anyways, i broke my femur clean in 1/2 and was in the hospital in traction for almost 2 months. When i got out i had to wear a cast for almost as long. It was a cast that started all the way up at my crotch, went down to the kneww where a second cast attached to the top one via a couple metal bars with swivel joints to i could bend my knee. After a week or so in the cast i decided i couldn't wait any longer and i snuk my bike out and me and my buddy with a honda 175 went riding !!! What a sight. Somehow i kept the foot on the peg, and being my right leg i didn't have to shift with it so i guess it's a good thing i didn't ride a triumph ! (this was '96 before triumph went to left side shifters. Anyways, i thought you'd get a *kick* outa that. But don't try it yourself now Carl. You're too darn old to be that stupid. :y24:

So that would make you about 29 years old now? Or did you mean '76? :y72:

I thought there was a clerical error there of some kind. Just thought I would clear it up in case someone went looking for a right shift Speed Triple. :y114:

I went to the doc today and I graduated from the the aircast to an ankle brace. I can wear the brace with sneakers and with one of my pairs of boots. I have full up and down movement with the brace; it prevents my ankle from rotating side to side. I have tendonitis and general inflammation in the tendons and muscles - not surprising. The doc wants me to wear the brace a week before I ride two wheels to give the ankle a chance to strengthen. I will follow his orders. Progress!!!

Sometimes a man has got to do what a man has got to do!
When I broke my ankle, I couldn't drive the Ford van I had at the time because it was a three on the tree. I couldn't push the clutch in.

:y92: :y92: :y105: :y105: :y115:

Just got back from the doc; he cleared me to ride two wheels!! I am still wearing the ankle brace and I have two more physical therapy sessions but I can RIDE!!

Carl, I'm just getting around to catching up on the news and I hear about your spill. I'm very glad you got through it all and I guess the only good thing is that it sharpens a riders defensive riding skills. All the best.
