October '21. Just another 'in for a service ' day.

My workshop is house or garden.

See the scratch marks on the paving from timing the engine? I've removed centre stand now, just use side stand, not so destructive.

Just got back from another annual Ranger reunion down in FL. Every year for the last 3 my old Company gets together in Mt. Dora and about 100 of us do a water jump into a nearby lake. This year this guy showed up and jumped his service dog. Story I got was he lost his legs below the knees downrange from an IED while running dogs with SF. I never worked with him but he’s a super cool dude. Very positive attitude. Doesn’t let his lot in life slow him down one bit.

Dog’s a Dutch Shepherd. Basically a larger version of a Belgian Malinois. She’s a real sweety too. Very energetic but friendly. Coolest thing I’ve witnessed in a few years.

Like I said, I just got back, but I should have more pics as they get posted on other sites. Hopefully there’s footage of the actual doggy drop. They weren’t on my lift but I know it went down because they pinned jump wings on her collar later on that day.

Awesome!! I've seen a bunch of pictures and a couple videos of guys with dogs jumping out of planes. I understand those dogs are "other worldly" in their ability to do what they do...but I've always wondered what's going through their mind when they're free falling...

I DID NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS CRAP!!! AS SOON AS I HIT THE GROUND, I'M CHEWING SOMEONE A NEW ARSE!!!!

Experienced animals pretty much just relax and let it all go down. This was that dog's 1st jump. He ran the hell out of her the whole day before to tire her out. The DoD K9 guys really know what they're doing.

They'll HALO these dogs in with supplemental O2. Quite a standard procedure in SOF units these days as well as some Counter-Poaching outfits.
