Not my pet, but I saw this on Twitter, and couldn't resist sharing.

It's me, Twinkle again. Just in from a city walk... Hot today. Nice. A lot of public grassland isn't cut until end May. People and pollinators get to enjoy meadow flowers.

My pet squirrel made a beautiful nest in the air box of the Colorado , chewed up the filter pretty good too. Oh well , these things happen when you have pets . I’ll reward her with some peanut butter today .

“Lilly.” SIL’s little dog in S.Africa.

She was the last survivor of a litter that was being systematically drowned by a townie. Family friend literally showed up as this filthy waste of oxygen was in the process of drowning her, the last one in line. He gave the POS R20 for the dog. I would’ve beat him into a bloody coma and taken an ear as a souvenir.

May agonizing misery, crippling disease, and abject poverty curse him, his children, and all his descendants until the end of time. With any luck he has since been run over by a taxi van and lied lingering in the gutter in paralyzing pain and choking on his own blood while fellow townies picked through his pockets and left him to die. And hopefully die, he did… slowly.

Lilly’s about 10 years old now. She was a high-strung annoying little thing as a pup but she’s really mellowed with age.

Kindness to animals is reverence to God.

I guess Owen is feelin’ relaxed now that we’re back. We boarded him at a “doggy resort” while we were gone. Real bang-on facility too- they basically let him run and play with other dogs all day long in an enclosed yard in between meals and rest periods in a kennel. Staff told us he was one of the best behaved guests there.

After 3 weeks it took him about 2-3 seconds of hesitation before he recognized us.

I think he put on another couple pounds while we were gone too. He’s really filled out.

Most people have pets and for some these pets become part of the family so I thought having a thread that we could tell others about our pets and just general nice animal stories might be enjoyed by all.

So pleas feel free to get into it in this thread as we all enjoy hearing about our furry friends.
