He won't get sh-t. It's Chicago, the pioneers of the current soft on crime trend in the US. Bail was set at only $7500. That means $750 and a bail bondsman made sure he was out in a few hours. There were people sitting next to him in jail with higher bails that got caught with a few grams of drugs, missed 2 or 3 child support payments, or simply missed a court date.

He'll get time served and 3-5 years probation depending on his record plus counseling. He's probably already a convicted felon so another felony conviction means nothing to him. He'll be back on the streets and he'll eventually kill a person or 6. This is how serial killers traditionally get started… torturing animals.

Personally, I wouldn't think twice about planting a .380 behind his ear after a creative 3 hour agony-fest. He'd be begging me with tears flowing down his blood-caked face to just kill him and end his suffering. That is, if what was left of his eyes could still produce tears.

"Mercy to the guilty is cruelty to the innocent."

And a little bad news as a reminder that truly, TRULY evil people thrive in this world today.

Serial kitten killer who microwaved pets named 'Shelly' turned in by disgusted lover: police

You may want to just read the link and not click on it. Needless to say, it's infuriating on many levels.

Give your furry ones an extra hug today, people… a couple extra treats, and throw some gravy on that kibble. Their time with you is tragically short, but at least you made the world a better place by nurturing things far more helpless than you.
I am one that would not be unable to read a story like this. We sure have some very sick people in this world.

Like I stated earlier in this thread. My SIL's little dog in Cape Town was last in line and the last one alive before being rescued from a towny oxygen waster who was systematically drowning a litter of puppies. Who the FCUK drowns a puppy?

Then there was that time 10-15 years those 3 townies broke into a house, killed the father with a panga then repeatedly raped the mother while they made her watch them boil her small child alive on he stove before hacking her up (Yes, that ACTUALLY happened).

@DaveM, you're certainly no stranger to abject cruelty and unbridled depavity being in RSA. All you got to do is run down curret events in any given town. Guy's our age bracket who've seen extended time down there could write books on the topic. But who would listen? Everyone outside RSA thinks all bullsh-t lovey-dovey/group hug sentiments about the place. "Hope For South Africa" and all that clueless nonsense.

The world is a despicable, ugly, horrendous place. As humans, sentient with self-awareness and the ability for compassion and to organize, we choose to destroy everything and brutalize all our fellow Earthings out of selfishness and greed. We are a festering cancer, a mangy putrid blight oozing across the face of the Earth causing misery and ruin.

All the horrific things I have seen here that nobody should see the one thing that gets to me without doubt is cruelty to animals.

…And Children.

Anyhoo, back on thread…

Thena's been quite the housefly hunter since yesterday afternoon. She stays at them, charging around like a Commanche. When she gets them, 3 so far, good size ones too, she swats the stunned insect around for a bit in typical cat fashion before finally :sick2: devouring them.

The picture does no justice but believe me when I say she practically flies though the air to get at these things. They can't escape. I tried to get some shots of the chases but their too furious. Like a one cat hurricane bouncing all over the AO.
She's actually munching on one in this shot.

I'm tempted to allow one or two in the house intentionally now and again so she can occasionally get her huntress on.

Took Owen to the range on SUN. I want to see how he reacts to gunfire to maybe take him on hunts in the future. So far he’s completely unphased. He was more annoyed by the heat. I took him off into the woods to let him explore some trails and his awareness so far is impressive. He stays pretty alert and constantly scans into the treeline. A Yote or two isn’t really a threat with me nearby but a Bobcat could disregard my presence and come charging out. Owen was scanning visually as well as constantly sniffing the air in every direction. It was pretty cool to watch.

Never heard of Heelers used for hunting before so perhaps Owen will be a pathfinder. Didn’t get any shots of the hike. Just him grabbing some shade and his tired ass on the way home.

Evidently Fido can call your bullish-t. Several of our dogs over the years could definitely tell when I was trying to bullish-t them. Like when I tried to trick them into something.

Via “Think Big.”

Dogs know when people are lying

I recently read another study about dog “mind reading.” It’s not that they can sense your thoughts. It’s that they can hear your heartbeat, so can cats. They acquire a sense of your state of mind by your heart rate. They can also smell toxins and pharmaceuticals exuding through your pores. They can tell if you’re drunk or high.

OK this is a long shot, but…

I was out doing some early evening gardening yesterday and this little guy showed up out of nowhere and started tagging along. I slid him some food on the back step, hung with him for a bit, and left things at that. Within a minute of shutting the back door he was crying out and tugging at the heart strings, so I let him spend the night. He played me like a friggin’ tuba. Now he doesn't want to leave, and I don't blame him. The alternative here is miserable and bleak.

As stated previously elewhere, my AO is on the "hoody" side and we have a plethora of seriously irresponsible "pet owners"(I use that term very lightly) around here who just let their unneutered animals roam around to shred each other up in fights, breed like rats, and then get smashed by cars. I've buried 2 neighborhood cats in my back yard so far who met their untimely ends by speeding ghetto jets and we've only been here a few months. It breaks your heart.

So- If there's anyone in here in the CENTRAL OR EASTERN NC area thinking about getting a kitten, now's your chance. He's about 2 months old and VERY friendly. Shadows me everywhere. I'll travel within a 100 mile radius or so from the RTP region to deliver him(See map) and I'll pay for shots if necessary. I'll even bring him into Southern Virginia for drop-off if needed.

We CANNOT keep him but I'm not putting him back out on the street so if he doesn't get vouched for in a couple days we'll have to take him to the SPCA. He stands a really good chance of being adopted there because he's a kitten and he's got that distinct mustache marking but they ARE a kill shelter at the end of the day.

I gave him a temporary name of "Spike" due to the pointy white marking on the bridge of his nose. He seems to really prefer the indoors. I got him litter box trained almost immediately, but that's never hard. We'll throw in the litter box, it's a spare we had.

Any questions, ask away. Post in here or pm me.

Nag's Head/Outer Banks-Norfolk AO and Richmond are doable for meet-up too.

I hate it when people get pets and cannot look after them.

Snowflake that we took in her owner was very upset that she could not keep her as she ran away when a dog was brought into tye house. The owner brought a huge bag of Hills dry food over when I agreed to take her in.

Now she has integrated into the house and all 3 cats play together. As she was an outside cat we could not change that. So now she let's us know when she wants to come in and go out.

At around 9pm she is at the door to come in for tye night and will go to her bed and only get up when we get up.

The nice thing is she tends to stay in the boundaries of our yard when she is outside.

She loves sitting on the steps to our deck in the morning sun.

Done and dusted. Riding buddy's GF has a sister who's cat just passed away. Old age, so he should be well looked after. Just got the call, taking him straight to her right now. Gotta get him paid forward ricky-tick because I'm starting to get attached.

So long, little buddy. Long life. Gonna miss ya.

Welp… No drop, jump refusal. Close the troop door and de-rig. We got him all the way to the drop off and she says "She's not ready." Fair enough, but she could've called and saved me the trip.

I get that some people "need time" but I've learned that if you're a pet person you don't want to wait too long to fill that hole. 10 days-2 wks is what I recommend. You can never replace a pet, it's impossible, but I've learned it's healthier to keep the ball in play. You'd be surprised how much quicker you heal. Everyone's different but just a personal observation.

So… awesome little cat still available. C'mon NC TT, you can't resist. You're powerless in his grasp.
