It's when you show off and open the bubbly with a sword - I don't have a sword, just a long bladed knife - you use the blunt edge of the blade. The trick is to loosen the wire cage by 6 turns only, don't remove the cage; find the seam in the bottle and firmly (but not too fast) run the blade down the seam to the neck-ridge and in theory, the whole top of the bottle should sheer off without glass splinters going into the bubbly. It's really just a big showy-offy thing and the champagne makes cringe at the 'art'. And I've made a total mess of it each time :y2: But I do have a bottle of Krug in the fridge waiting in anticipation!

How did I miss this thread? Prayers you make it over the final hump. Forget the WD-40 at this point, Duct Tape and hot wax will now be required.

Good luck, I'll listen to see if I hear you when you get the contract.

Thanks guys - a bit tense this morning! Liam's already choosing a new car for me, Farside's sorted out all the extras the my new bike and I'm looking at holiday destinations so I can just de-stress from all of this :y2:

AND Reckitt Benkiser are visiting Farside's factory today for a health & safety check - if he passes the score card, then he's up for tender on the RB contract - it's gonna be a good, good year!!! :y2:

It's been a long hard slog with the factory and unions and CCMA's and importing the machines, cable thefts in the factory, stock theft, raw material theft - just a million things so if anyone deserves a good year, it's my Farside! I couldn't do what he does for sure.

So this is to 2012 - a great year for us :y2:

Farside aka Wallace owns a plastic packaging manufacting company - MaxiStar Packaging. To get any pharmaceutical packaging or household cleaners contract, the factory has to be spotless and I mean spotless - not even dust is allowed; they do a 'white glove' test on every surface in the factory - huge extractor fans all over, epoxy coated floors throughout - it's a tough business. Pharmaceutical packaging has to be manufactured in a separate part of the factory - a whole production section of the factory is separate and dedicated just to pharmas - the pharma section is literally 'hertmetically' sealed off from the rest of the factory.

It's just the jars not the content - they order say 150 000 at a time - if they find a spec of excess raw material on just one jar, the entire consignment is returned - you have no idea how specific the pharma industry is. Would drive me nuts!
