That thing sounds great. It sounds like any potential drawback from reduced size have been converted into a more manageable and predictable ride. It will be a few years before my budget can fit a new bike but I was hedging between the explorer 1200 or the tiger 800. Hearing your reaction to the 800 makes me think I could save a few bones and buy the smaller ride and probably be happier. That looks and sounds like great fun! Keep us posted.

Apkah, there are a few physical things to consider IMO. I'm 5'9" & I ride solo. The 800 does the job for me, but if I did a lot of two-up touring + luggage it might not be up to the task. As it is, the 800 gives me all the things I want better than any other bike I can think of. I'm not 'missing out' by not having an Explorer 1200 in my view.

Dave, I am so glad to read your glowing report. That is is exactly how I feel about my XC. It is the best all around bike I have ever owned and it does well two up also. But for a cross country tour two up, I would want something a little bigger.

This bike is already impressing me so much I think I ought to give her a name.

But I'm not very good at this. Many years ago I had a CB900F that I named Wanda. Wanda the Honda; y'see I really am not good at this, but I'll give it some thought....

Hmmm .... Wanda! if it was anything like my one of the 80's I could relate as it tended to "Wanda" all over the road especially in those corners :y2:

I met up with avion this morning and we did our first brekkie run together with our 800s- good fun.

Mila & Keira. The Cubbettes :y5: haven't had a catfight yet. ROTFL

No, no dirt.

I've no intention of taking mine off-road until it's had its 1,000 km service. That should take place in about 10 days' time & then I'll try some of the easier dirt roads around here- we have enough to choose from!

Can't tell yet, cos I'm still running the bike in; 6,000 rpm max at the moment. My bike will be fitted with the same Leo Vince pipe next week when it has its 1,000 km service.

Not one kilometre from where that photo was taken is another white tiger. Yes really.

A tiger, in Africa?
