The governor put the state on state wide lock down today, seems everybody is ready for it, my wife and i have a good supply of food we will be ok for the 2 week period. I have a little work to do so i can stay busy and make a dollar or two, sure glad i have my business at home. Good luck to everyone!

They just started a huge drive testing people so we can expect a huge spike in positive cases in a few days.

The lockdown is not being followed in our township so this is a huge worry once it takes hold there.

Do you have a place you can isolate? Do you have family with you? Is there anyway we can help?

The three of us are at home and should have supplies to last some time. The small shopping complex in or area has everything we need if we need to stock up. They being very good at keeping customers safe so that is great.

Thanks for offering the help.

While the question is directed to Dave / had it been directed to Australians ... If we normally live in a crowded city but have a country retreat we are by law forbidden to travel there. We must stay in our principle residence because the hospitals etc are planned according to the population placement. Large numbers moving to rural areas could overburden small country hospitals.
Today our PM said the 6 months of restricted movement etc is a BEST CASE situation and will continue until a vaccine is available in a year or longer. I dislike our PM and his party but I'm admiring his honesty in calling it as it is and not pussyfooting and flip flopping. If I survive this year I'm going to pretend 2020 never happened, just start again early next year :-)

Our state as of yesterday has 1073 cases and 22 deaths, doesn't sound like much compared to everyone else i think we are just getting started as increased testing will soon affect the numbers, i am just glad i live in the country and are away from the heavily populated areas.

Day 18 .

no deaths yet here on Prince Edward Island but we are only 150,000 . Must say though ,we have wonderful leadership from the Premier and the leader of the health department. Both got p’od at those not following the rules and gave us a little tune up then imposed fines up to $ 10,000. One person has been fined already.

We were also told this but it seems it has been largely ignored as has the lock down itself

The Chief Provincial Medical Officer in our province (and a medical doctor) was totally pissed at a group of bikers who had gathered at Tim Horton's last weekend near where he lives.
They were gathered and acting as if it was just another day and here he is on TV nearly every day telling people to stay home, wash your hands, avoid people, etc., etc., etc. - along with the grim statistics of the pandemic.
What a bunch of idiots FACE

Things are not good here.
