We haven't had any snow yet this year just way to much rain, can't walk in the yard without sinking down not to mention the trees that have blown down due to a little wind from time to time. probably this summer we will have a drought for me to bitch about. :(

A picture of my shed from the kitchen window last year. Same shot no shed 2015 .

Well we now down to having two hours of electricity in the morning and another two hours in the afternoon. The power is then restored to normal from 10pm untill 6am when we then go back to the two hours stints.

So I decided to treat myself to a new T-shirt

Wow, that's pretty brutal!! How can a country, or anyone for that matter, function normally!!.
I guess you'll have to sleep during the day and stay up all night with full electricity restored ROTFL

I heard from Dave this morning and now the internet is facing the same thing - on and off - as the power company struggles to stay afloat. He will be here when he can, but may disappear for days.
It's hard to believe that something like that was allowed to happen in what is a pretty progressive and up-to-date country.
From what Dave has told me, corruption is the problem at all levels of any authority.

All our state owend enterprises are now on the brink of collapse due to corruption and bad management ( or should I say lack of skills to manage).

We sitting with 2 hours of power on in the morning and two in the afternoon. The times depend on what area you are in.

This is now causing a shortage of water as they cannot pump enough for an area in the short time they have.

The internet is now also off and on because of the same problem.

I am now mostly using my mobile to connect but mobile data is not cheap our side.

Just to give you an idea 2GB of mobile data cost more than the 300GB I have on my ADSL connection

Even here mobile data is more expensive than "land-based" data. I put it in quotes intentionally, because even your mobile communications go to land, somewhere, to be transported for the long distances; fiber optics are more cost-effective than microwave/satellite dishes. Most mobile plans include 5GB in the monthly charge, but go over that and it might be another $50 charge for another 5GB allowance, while "land-based" services do include 300-500GB in the monthly service charge, and overages are only about $10.

I have a 1GB with my monthly plan and it renews on the 12th of each month, so far I have topped up twice with 1GB each time and I am out again. Under normal conditions the 1GB works for me as most of the time I am running off a WiFi router where I am at that time. However with the our main cable connected ISP seems to also be dropping off so there is no WiFi. I have a UPS that I have my PC box connect onto so it does not get nailed with the power surges and outages all day. I also have my router connected to provide WiFi to all our mobile devices so they still up and running. Then I have charging points on it as well for the mobile devices. I also have a laptop but I now keep that only to be used for my business and at times I need to remove something from the UPS to charge it as well.

Besides all of this it is really dangerous to be on the roads at night as all the traffic lights are out, plus it is dark without street lights. So if you not familiar with the road and know where the traffic light are and you should stop you just miss them and go through. The other night this happened to me as I was stopped at one the car coming from behind me just went speeding through almost hitting me from the rear.
