Dealer rant;
After my last trip the back brakes were worn completely down to the metal(my bad for thinking I had enough for this last trip. Apparently, not).
When I got back home, disassembled the rear brakes and figured I needed the rear disc as well as it was scored a bit, and the pins were a bit hard to get out and stripped one of the 5mm allen heads so needed those as well. Our "local dealer"(the only one in my province), about 1.5 hrs away told me a month to get the pins. I didn't even ask about the rest of the parts.
Called our newest, closest dealer (4 hours away) in Nova Scotia(APD Motorsports) and they told me a week to get everything. Ordered the parts and they were in in 6 days. Had them shipped to me last Friday and were sitting on my door step this afternoon. On the bike and ready to go.
It's pretty sad when you can't get decent service and parts at a reasonable time from a dealer you purchased 3 bikes from. They used to be a family owned business, but were bought up by a big car dealer conglomerate, and have gone downhill ever since.
I will not be supporting them anymore and am seriously questioning my ownership of this bike for something a lot easier to get parts and service for.
I do a lot of my own work but there are quite a few things where the bike has to go to the dealer for and having the nearest good shop 4 hours away is getting a bit long in the tooth. I took my Tiger to APD Motorsports this spring for the 32K service and they did an excellent job and their labour rates are quite reasonable. Would recommend them to anyone.
Rant, off!

I do not know what is going on with triumph at the minute (not just triumph ?) parts availability is quite bad across the bourd even for consumables , I can get parts easier for my 1976 honda cb500's than my 2019 tiger 800 its a sad state of affairs these days (n)

Parts came in quick from the newest dealer in my area and I applaud that. It's the big mega brand dealer closest to me that cannot provide parts or decent service for Triumph. Looking at the stone cold reliable Yamaha Super Tenere.

Glad you got quick service from that new dealer. TUP

Three Triumphs in our garage indicates our love of Triumphs but if I was into an adventure bike it would be the Yami Super Tenere or Honda Africa Twin

I really loved my Tiger 800XC. But like you stated, if were buying a new adventure bike, it definitely would NOT be a Tiger 900. Triumph ruined the triple feel. I would purchase the Super Tenere.

That said, I am well satisfied with Bonneville T120. It does everything I need a bike to do including light off pavement riding.

I do really like my TEX.........................but this lack of support is really testing my love of the bike.
I have never lived near a good Triumph dealership. When I bought my n 04 T100, the dealership was 1.5 hours away. When I moved to Altamonte Springs there was a good dealership in Orlando, but very expensive. I ended up traveling 1.25 hours to Lakeland. That is a great dealership. I do have a good dealership about 45 minutes from me now in Pompano Beach.
