If I buy the PC business, it will be to set up my older son who needs to get into a solid steady self-employment situation.

He's really interested in custom painting, so powdercoating kinda goes hand-in-hand and uses some of the same equipment; it'll also mean a more steady source of income to have more than one egg in his basket.

Also, it will mean I can get all my future powdercoating FREE!!!!!

Frame & swingarm back from powdercoat-

New bushings pressed in beautifully, spindle is a perfect snug slip fit, oil fill bolt hole is threaded with new stainless bolt in place (will get a fiber washer snugged up by a flat washer)-

Swingarm in place, still need to weld up spindler plate to spindle, cut retainer plate, drill both plates & frame for security bolts, then cut off, turn down & thread spindle end for retainer nut. It's a perfect fit so far, still need engine mounting plates to test whether I'll need to hollow out backsides to clear spindle retaining hardware. Swingarm swings through it's arc with just a hint of friction-

Frame-to-swingarm spacing with the thrust washers leaves a small gap at each side that I'll need to take up with another pair of modified thrust washers incorporating a capture groove for oil retaining o-rings, and outer rubber dust sleeves cut from bicycle inner tubes.

Hi Paul. Thank you for asking. I am doing better and better. I am back to riding on a limited basis. I just had a followup CAT scan yesterday. I am hoping the report will be good. I have no reason to think that it won't be. Please give Sally and Talitha great big hugs form me. I miss you all.

Finally received the Dresda engine plate kits (one for me, one for my friend Mark who sold me the Featherbed frame, and one for sale)

Preliminary mock-up done with the conversion plates, I'm planning some mods already-

Head steady needs some work, that was unexpected-

Coil mounts are nifty-

Too tired to mess with the footpeg / outer plates; maybe this weekend, I need to finish the N15 and get the lower end done on the Commando.

My friend finally got his run of custom knives done for the NY show, so we got down to the spindle kit fabrication.

First, the template for the bolt plates-

Next, the the bandsaw with the 3/16" stock-

(I didn't get any shots of drilling the holes) Then came the grinder to dress them up-

On to the lathe to turn down the threaded end-

The Left end will be trimmed down to length and welded up-

The Right end will be threaded, then trimmed to fit behind the Right side rearset mounting plate-

We can't thread the end of the shaft till Monday when he gets his lathe set up to cut threads, and we can't weld the other end till after the threading is done; so, this is it for today.

I need to modify all my wrenches like this one, no more having to search for where you set down the hammer!

Of course, when fabricating Norton parts, you should use only the finest Norton finishing materials...

Wow, sorry I have missed updating this thread!!!!

I'll get on my laptop this evening and bring the project up to date (it's into the overhaul phase with the teardown already complete and some machine work done).

I'm getting into using my friend's mill, now I want one!
