Well, he stayed an hour. Drank four saucers of milk. Sat on sofa. Then left. Not been back, was just a flying visit, still left home then. Probably got important stuff to do.
Once a cat has decided to move out normally there is not much you can do about it unless you just lock it indoors.

I have only had cats that just move in and never one that moved out.

Snatch may have abandoned the sinking ship, but Able Seaman Simon is still here.

Owen pulling guard on the ST, a couple months younger back in JAN.

He's put on 15-20lbs/7-9kg since this photo. I've never seen a pup grow so fast.

You really need a choc lab to guard a bike properly. Theives hate affectionate licks.

Owen's got a great face though! That expression. There's lots of vids on YouTube. These dogs like riding on motorcycles.

Ran across these shots of the guy we lost back in '19. The final shot was his last night on Earth. Aside from lounging around out back in our tiny downtown back yard(2nd pic), he'd get quick, escorted walks with one of us out front. That night he came outside with me, rolled around on the sidewalk a bit, strolled out to the far end there to rub up against the hedge off to the right(which was out of character), and trotted back home. I crashed out on the couch for most of the night and he spent that time curled up on my shoulder.

It was a good send-off.

Sunny day. 1.2 miles walk to parkland. Probably same distance around parkland. And back home.

Took a big bone. For snack before return journey.

Twinkle just about did it. Gots lots of "Ahh"s from people, labouring along. Still, three or four miles walk not bad for 15 year-old. Might have to start taking her in my car.

Back home...

Tummy tickle in bed. It's a dog's life.

Not my pup obviously but some family up in AK is feeling grateful. Over a month out in the elements on the Bering pack ice in late Winter-early Spring. I spent a month up in the Bering during May-June a few years ago and that place is no joke, lemme tell you.

Unlike ACD/Blue Heelers, Aussie Shepherds are actually an American breed, California to be specific. They were of largely Spanish descent that came to the US via Australian breeders in the late 1800's. Tough dogs. No idea about the Shepherds, but ACD’s are actually bred for pain tolerance. I'd imagine they are.

This dog probably wouldn’t have survived 2 weeks on his own in a big city but made it almost 6 out in God’s country.
