No more Rrrrrrrolllll up the rim to win? The apocalypse is indeed upon us. Good thing Hemi got his rig finished in time. I own an F 150, so I'm good already. ;)

Hemi, that's some nice looking lift hardware and rock sliders. Grease zerks(nipples, for the older less sensitive crowd) and all. Should last a good while. Gonna get any pics of the Taco in action?

Well I didn't get to get the "action" photos I wanted but I did get some truck related "action" photos. . . Hauling some turning wood home.

Pin Oak slab and Pecan limbs from my grandparent's old home place. I grabbed these when I delivered three pens one of my cousin's ordered from some of the pecan she had sent me.

A former coworker saw the above photo from yesterday and called me to see if I would like some Persimmon logs. . . Well, yeah!!! so today I was loaded with Persimmon.

Here's the 3 pens I turned from the pecan.

We don't have Pecan wood up this way. Not sure what Pin Oak is, but I don't think these grow up here.
Looks like you have a lifetime supply of wood BGRIN

Beautiful pens TUP TUP As you know I have one of your beauties on the desk right in front of me at this moment.
Not a day goes by that I'm not making notes with it from stuff I see on the internet or whatever TUP TUP

Before metal took over , persimmon was the choice for the golf clubs known as woods . Don’t believe we have it here on Prince Edward Island but the agro maps suggest we could support it . Hope things are going well in confinement. Must say we do have wonderful leadership here from government and health care sectors .But looks like our mountain trip to the Parkway May be in jeopardy

Persimmon is a member of the Ebony family and is very hard wood. Persimmon was a common source for wine in the old days, you just didn't want to drink any green persimmon wine, it's extremely sour when the fruit is green. Deer love to eat the fruit and many a times I would sit on my grandfather's porch and watch the deer come out of the woods, across the pea patch to get to the persimmons. I'm hoping to turn a lot of the wood into bowls and use some of the wood for pens. Now I just need to teach myself how to turn bowls.

I have never been into golf so I was unaware that the "woods" were made from persimmon. Persimmons grow in north Florida and I have eaten the fruit; but they do not grow in central or south Florida.
