I know an almost 100 year old gentleman, who is still really sharp and only gave up is driving license 6 months ago, who told me that, unlike most retirees, when he feels like taking a nap he goes for a walk. That's how he refreshes himself.

Im getting fed up of listening to you retires go on about all your free time and doing it for your self :y39:its sickening and showofery !GRUMPY
Shouldn't this be in the rant thread? :y34:And "showofery"? Couldn't find that one in Webster's. I like it. Yeah! All these danged retirees sharing all their adventures while us working stiffs go to our daily jobs is just downright annoying. I feel your pain, Shane.:chicken:

The thing about retirement is that you usually have to be old to do it, so you young fellers enjoy your youth because time passes all too quickly - and then you're suddenly even older before you know it FACE

Well the adventure build on my truck continued today. . . Off with the ugly old chrome rear bumper and on with the new Shrockworks rear bumper.

I liked to bumperless look but I've been hit too many times to leave off a bumper.

And on with the new.

That last photo has the old bumper and the steps that I took off last week in hopes of also installing the Shrockworks sliders today but we got a late start on the bumper. Sliders to go on next week while we are upgrading the the shocks/coil-overs/upper control arms/rear leaf springs. Probably won't have time to install the snorkel.

Plate and recovery shackles installed. There's rain in the area so I'll hold off installing and wiring the new back-up lights. I got the license plate lights wired up this morning so I'm legal again.

I like the increased ground clearance and departure angle with the new bumper. Hopefully I will get the back-up lights installed when I do the sliders and suspension upgrade next weekend. Once I get the truck finished I'll get started on redoing my trailer so Jessica and I can enjoy my new freedoms. Kim has even said she might join me on one or two of them. . . Well she'll have the truck while I'm out riding Jessica.

The front bumper was replaced after it was involved in a head-on crash in my driveway. It was sitting right where it is sitting in this photo. A young married pregnant woman two doors down was looking for her dog that had gotten out. Another neighbor and one of the local cops were down the street looking for the dog too. She saw the dog and pulled into my driveway to turn around and wasn't paying attention and hit my truck. So long story short, I had to replace the front bumper.
