I went back to the shop to turn a pen I've wanted to do for the past year.

And if I should sell it (or another one) the buyer will receive the COA for the pen.

I think I'm going to enjoy retirement if I can keep this up. Spent a little time in town getting some retirement papers notarized and waiting for Kim while she was in the grocery store. I did find time to do what I was wanting to do. . . Play in the shop.

If I keep this up, I just might get good at it some day.

I'm branching out, learning. . . well teaching myself to turn cups and moving up to beer tankards.

My first cup was a real chore. Three things that SHOULD NOT be your first attempt at vessel turning. . . small work piece, end grain hollowing, hard as rock wood. Wanna guess which one(s) mine had. Yep, all three.

With everything stacked against me, I some how ended up with a small cup that I glued a small magnet in the bottom and gave to Kim for a paperclip cup for her desk.

So, my first vessel, a Persimmon Paperclip Cup (excuse the paper towel, I had just applied the oil coat finish)
