You might recall I modified my stock silencer a while back with great results....

Due to the fact that all the welding I did was stick arc, and the fact that I am by no means a decent welder....
well the welds caused cracking nearby and therefore leaks. The material is *very* thin and I think with the heat from welding it caused metal fatigue.
In hindsight I should have taken the whole thing into work and tig welded it properly. Oh well..... live and learn.
I decided to splash out on a new silencer, phoned around and found the Leo Vince stainless going for R4400, now last year the Arrow was R7000 so I reckon it's a good deal.
Picked it up a couple of hours later...
Nice lookin' box eh? bwahahaha.
Here's what the kit contains...
End can
link pipe and spring
lots of spacers washers and bolts, you replace everything
Stickers
2x carbon fibre clamps
instructions warnings blah blah books.
Picture of the business end.
What, whats that in there. Oh my it's a db killer.
Right, we'll get rid of that for a start, why would you leave that in?
It is very effective in making it quieter. Like I said. WHY?
's better
Fitted on, took about ten minutes. (The shop wanted an hour labour!!?? Then another hour for the map. Slow pokes or Dick Turpin?)
Sounds very nice, perhaps not as deep growl as my modified stock, but it's throaty and free breathing.
I have a 'through pipe' map on the bike that I wrote earlier this year, gonna leave it be for now.
Weights....
This was one of the reasons for getting this too. The silencer sits quite high up on the bike, and mine weighed 6.5kg.
The replacement is under 3kg so handling should improve too.
Okay, well that's what I been up to.
Oh yeah, replace the brake pads on the rear too, f$ck me, easiest job ever. lol
