Good day to you all!

I am having an issue with the 10 Amp fuse blowing that controls the 3/6/9/11 Red/Blue Wire - Instrument Illumination, 29 Tail Light/Stop light and 50 Number Rear Plate light.

I spent an hour or so inspecting everything from the head light to the tail light and I don’t see anything obvious. Has anyone run into this issue in the past?

Bulbs can develop sporadic internal shorts. At least a headlamp bulb of mine did. Changing stop and number plate bulbs would at least rule them out as an issue.
Don't know anything about the actual bike model. If instrument illumination bulbs are easily changed, I'd do that too.

Good days to you all!

I have given the Thunderbird a new name - VooDoo Bike! Being sarcastic of course!

Gone through the wiring harness al the back and nothing out of the ordinary. When into the head light shell and again nothing unusual. Took the instrument off the triple tree upper bracket and felt like there was a piece of wood inside the rubber housing! Carefully split it open and this is what I found, and frankly have no idea what on earth it is other than a relay board. Strangely it doesn’t show up in any wiring diaphragms that I have.

Does anyone out there have any idea what this might be and would this be causing my fuse issue?

That small circuit board looks "pretty cooked".

Disconnect the main harness plug where it goes into the "dash" panel and see if that cures the fuse popping. If not, then disconnect the headlight switch, then the one brake switch, then the other. Don't be tempted to put a larger fuse in. I don't know what that circuit board is but if I had to guess, then I would say the coolant temperature relay although the wire colours are wrong according to the wiring diagram.

Thank you for the response and suggestion.

I went back starting from the rear to check every connection point. I got to the head light bucket that has the connection to the instrument tach/speedo and I noticed something odd in that inside the plastic shelf there was something rectangle. I searched high and low trying to figure out what this is on the wiring schematic and I am sorry this one has me beat.

I think it’s a relay of some sort, so I split the protective casing apart and this is what it looks like. Thinking someone with more superior knowledge would know!

I think it is couple of relays.

In other words, Beats the He**l out of me!

I then asked what’s the relay for thus to date no answer.

I am Happy to report that I found what was causing the short blowing my 10a fuse. Where the three sided female connection point for the head light, there was a solder joint that stood a little higher that it should be, and when I put the head light back into the shell you could see where it was touching the back wires in the bucket , thus we have a horn. Put it all back together and went for a 5 - 6 kilometre ride trying to hit all the bumps to recreate it shorting out. Nothing! Working as it should‍
