I'm certainly no expert when it comes to the really old bikes, but I didn't know that any bikes were built by the French.

Haaa I used to own one, though I preferred my old D7 bantam. The engine seized on the benly and forced me to buy a Vespa 180ss just to get around on until I bought me my BSA A7.
If anyone thinks 'how could he buy a vespa'? It was bloody pokey and to give it more street cred, I bought it of a motorbike cop who used to ride a Norton 750 at work.he said "the Vespa terrified him"???

No disgrace owning a Vespa Spanna. There was one in my garage for a couple of years.

I had a ride on a Vespa in the late 70's and I also found it rather scary

Try riding one and being chased by English hells angels on Honda 750s that's scary! Great fun though thinking about it now, they couldn't catch me. The Vespa was far more manoeuvrable than their big lumpy japs.
