Thanks, damn! Now I have to try and post a photo, bear with me while I try and work out how to do it on this iPad?

It is a stock bike, not a special. Obviously it is to undergo renovation, however most of it is there. The manufacturer made motorcycles for over 30 years. So I don't think I have been to harsh on you, by picking a one off? Have fun.

Sorry if I have used a rather ratty example, I didn't want to give too much away. I will post a few pictures of better preserved examples, once somebody has got it???
The basics are all there, more than can be said about the seat covering

IMG_0797.JPG IMG_0798.JPG IMG_0799.JPG Yes Dave, you have cracked it!
It's a 1924 Montgomery Anzani 996cc V twin.
Montgomery made motorcycles from 1902-1939. They started in Bury St. Edmunds, before setting up production just down the road from me in Coventry.
William Montgomery supplied frames and forks to George Brough (Brough superior) early in their production.
He is also credited with the innovation of the side car.
I have attached some better pictures of a Montgomery Anzani, a very nice quality motorcycle I hope you agree.

Thanks Stephen, there are lots more out there, some that I have never heard of.
I live only 15 minute ride from the national motorcycle museum. They have over a thousand bikes on display and all british, from the start of motorcycling up to the present day, most between the 1920's up to the 1970's and the demise of the british bike industry. Now that's what I would call a barn find?

Looks similar to a 1920's indian, but I don't want to hog this forum, so hopefully I am wrong.
But I guess a lot of 1920's machines looked similar?
