I always get a kick out of discussions about weather and temperatures and how one person is freezing while another is dying in the heat.
I guess it has all to do with where you have lived all or most of your life. Your body tolerates and adapts to what the weather dictates.
25C is a wonderful warm summer day here. When it gets to 30C I start to wilt.
Fortunately, here on the coast it rarely, if ever, gets to 32-33C. If it does I'm in the shade and barely moving. It gets that hot inland away from the Atlantic and I never ride in that kind of heat.
When it gets to -18C, that's very cold of course, but it's no big deal to me/us. That's just winter.
But that's not to say that I "enjoy" cold weather - we just tolerate it and carry on.

Yes, one is aclimatised to the region in which one lives. Problem here is that for about 9months out of the year, it's really wonderfully warm so we have thin blood. But if DaveM from his region of SA had to move to Johannesburg right now, he'd suffer terribly in our winter - and we're only about 1200km's apart but he's at sea level on the warmer Indian Ocean and I'm stuck at 6000ft asl, on a fairly open highland plateau.

Born in Montreal and living near Pittsburgh most of my life, I had enough of "tropical" climates when I was in Vietnam. I swore I would NEVER live where the heat and humidity gets anything like that again!!!

10.00 am and 15c, clear blue sky ... but ... raging wind from the west.
No real damage done only a lot of green foliage blowing about the yard and park.
Not a good day for a ride.SAD

HOT and HUMID here 85 F now at 8 p.m., 93F earlier today 70% humidity.....scattered afternoon showers almost daily (riding is a game of tag with the rain drops) it will be like this now till fall --give or take a hurricane or 2-- which really doesn't set in till...uhm....mid November. :y13:
Luckily I like the heat. :y2: The production area of the print shop I run is 95-108 degrees daily summer or winter. People look at me like I am nuts on the bike in 99 degree weather full gear and full face helmet, but I just laugh, cause its way cooler on the bike in the wind than in the shop lol!.

Spring time in the South, got to love it.

I had a group laughing last week when I put on my jacket and full face helmet. Want to guess who was the most comfortable when we were riding? It sure wasn't those laughing earlier especially with their newly acquired sunburns.

x's 2 Hemi. I have tried to convince others my summer Joe Rocket mesh/padded jacket keeps me cooler than no jacket at all.....I just smile when they argue the point.....somethings you gotta learn on your own I guess.

You say that when I moved from your side back down to the coast it was the start of winter. I could not understand why people were getting cold and I never even felt the least bit cold that winter. As the years rolled on I started feeling colder each winter. :y10:

We don't get much humidity up here, but when we do I can barely stand it.
During early August we do get some humidity for a couple of days at a time, but nothing steady and then it's gone.
Those are the days when I just sit around and hardly do anything.
The heat and humidity is hard on my igloo too :y13: :y16: :y15:

Got to have the humidity. How are you supposed to breathe if the air isn't in a liquid state?

Plus you never need to use a sauna ......every morning I open the front door and step into one. Keeps the skin well hydrated. I have thought about growing gills........o maybe I have all ready..... :y2:

Just the opposite here - first day of summer and the days will start getting shorter.
There's something unfair about that. Our nice weather has barely begun and the days start getting shorter.
Oh well, it's expected to be 25C (77F) today and the first really warm day this year.
