i dont mind the cold ....you can put stuff on to keep warm on the bike ! but when its to hot ....you get funny looks riding with just boots and a helmet

We're having a mild spring this year the temps have for the most part been in the upper 80's. Yesterday we eased up to 93 and the low this morning is 76 so it's jackets in the morning and mesh gear in the afternoon.

True story - about 10 years ago, I had a friend over from the UK in the middle of our summer. So we did the whole tourist route to Mpumalanga (DaveB has posted loads of pics from this area). There was a Harley run to the area at the time. The road to Pilgrim's Rest (ref DaveB again), comes to a T-junction with a large traffic island in the middle. We could see a couple of HD's parked on the island and one on the side of the road - no big deal right? Until we pulled up next to them! The guys had boots, helmets, shirts and shades on but that's all - no strides, nada with their you-know-what's perching on the tank!! All 3 of them!!! I nearly crashed my car and my friend got whiplash turning around to get a better look!

BTW it's warmed up a since the cold snap yesterday morning- it's currently 16C/61F at 3.40 pm.

It only made it up to 91 today. Oh well, it was a pleasant ride even if it didn't get hot.

It's not that hot here Shane! We are having strange weather at the minute. I drove from Morecambe to Barrow in Furness this morning. It was 22C when I set off, and 12C when I arrived and was thick fog rolling off the sea!

It was hot here today 26c with a hot dry wind, now that the sun is setting it is sarting to cool down drastically. This is the type of weather that makes you sick
at this time 5.o2 pm its 31c and 90ish f and to hot for me ! its such a fast change there was just no time to aclimatise to it.
and its in till aleast next tuesday , i just hope it cools a bit ! but at least we do have a cool breeze of the sea .

Well, down under in not so sunny Melbourne it's f#@%* freezing. Only got to 14 C today and we had a months rain in one day. Still I suppose it is the end of Autumn. I don't usually complain about there weather too much but yesterday was 19c and sunny, weird eh! even though it's colder here, I still ride every day to work and around town. Silly git ain't I?

People can live at 14c? Dang that's too cold to support most mammals.

Anything under 25c is uninhabitable for me. Give me the heat any day please. Fortunately our winter isn't very long and by mid-August it starts warming up again. I've been lighting the fire since the beginning of the week
In Joburg, although the day time temps are bearable and we have clear blue skies that go on forever, as soon as the sun sets the temps do a radical drop - we can go from a daytime high of around 20c to -3c in a day. Because we never had cloud cover in the winter, the warmth from the day dissipates very quickly. Joburg has a totally dry winter but the cold is a biting cold - very harsh. And we're 6000ft above sea level which also doesn't help.
I really just can't handle winter at all - if I could, I'd hibernate like a bear. But Shanered, you're welcome to pop over anytime between now and mid-August to enjoy our very cold, but very dry winter which is lovely for riding!
