Heading for about 8 hours tonight at and below freezing. It’ll slightly warm up tomorrow briefly, but then drop below freezing for perhaps 24 to 36 hours. I’m turning water off tonight at the meter. If power holds we will be fine, not risking pipes though. Brought down from storage our winter prep gear, wool clothing and a 1972 vintage Swiss sleeping bag.

Finnish/Estonian wool sweaters, mittens and socks! Overcoat, boots and hats also ready. Bring on the Siberian arctic blast we’re ready in Houston! Might have snow pics Tuesday! LoL.
My place is all electric ..if the grid fails which is rare I switch to 87 octane power . Honda of course , but Triumph did make portable gen sets during WW 2 . They were 500 cc fan cooled units of aluminum construction , barrels and heads included . The finning was square in shape and the exhaust ports exited straight out the front . After the war the top ends found their way into factory made racers , actually to the dismay of upper management which was not pro racing at the time. They made 40 + hp and won a few races against teams which had full factory support . This one’s seat springs are missing.Heading for about 8 hours tonight at and below freezing. Yup. +5C yesterday and rain. The deep freeze sucks. Everything under the snow is still wet and soft. As soon as you plow it off or clear it freezes and becomes slick.A nice snowstorm is just wrapping up here in Fredericton - got about 20cm. Heading into a deep freeze for a couple of days with a feels like -28c tonight.
At least I can get the cross-country skis back out now that we have some snow on the ground!!

I prefer temps that get well below -10C before snow. It was always safer with good snow cover. The worst is always near freezing and fluctuations between thawing and freezing. I like either well above or well below. LoL.Yup. +5C yesterday and rain. The deep freeze sucks. Everything under the snow is still wet and soft.
