That's not close enough; a block or two would be better!I live within a mile or so of the largest medical center in Texas. LoL.

My temps are going down with a cold drink!Ah, power restored!Good luck getting temps down!
We didn't have ac at all at home. My parents installed ac a couple of years after I moved out. However, the house had excellent cross ventilation and was built on piers. My school didn't have ac neither. That is a part of the good old days I don't miss! Here in Warren, Arkansas it is supposed to hit 98 F.It is hot as it can be here in Mississippi, everybody talks of it being hotter now than before, seems to be just like it was when i was a kid. We didn't have A/C until i was about 12 years old but that attic fan was fantastic.
I hope Ernesto weakens and misses you. Debby missed my corner of SE FloridaWhen hurricane Debby got up here in the far northeast, she didn't amount to much where I am.
The new storm, Ernesto, has swung out to sea and possibly heading this way by the weekend.
But it's still early so it's a waiting game.
Nice that you were sparedI hope Ernesto weakens and misses you. Debby missed my corner of SE Florida
In 3 days I only got 1.5 inches of rain and few wind gusts of 50 mph.
Stay safe, Rocky. I'm hoping for the best.Nice that you were spared
According to the latest track (guess?), the eye of Ernesto will pass offshore early next week but will still give us a big swipe of wind and rain.
But a lot can happen in the next 4-5 days.
Thanks Carl, me too. The latest track shows the eye more offshore than before, so we may get lucky.Stay safe, Rocky. I'm hoping for the best.
It is vicious for sure. 50 mph winds are not uncommon in our daily thunderstorms.Well we had a lot of damage done around town as the winds reached 81 kilometer/hour = 50.331 066 572 mile/hour (mph) so I would hate to see what it is like in one of these hurricanes.
