Well it’s going to get hot and humid here for a bit. My apologies in advance, but I may be absent or participate less until our electricity is restored. The process according to bits of news may take multiple days to weeks. I recall once years ago we were about a week or more without power when a hurricane went through. This storm exceeded previous numbers for power outages at slightly over 2.2 million at its peak. I’ll try to check in, but with lack of power it’s going to be a hit and miss! Going to have to empty the fridge today, everything is likely toast by now.

Looks like the Maritime Provinces could be in Beryls path as she winds down . We’re going through a few days very hot and humid by our standards , 30 C with add on 7 or 8 for the “ feels like “ .
Got out for a spin last night at 7 pm and headed to the north shore , temp was still 28 with lots of people just leaving the beaches . I wiggled my way south west past Oyster Bed , the Brookvale ski park to Victoria by the sea then along the south shore back home . The south side was nicer at 24 C with the south wind coming off the water .
After Fiona just about everyone around here has a generator . I keep my 7100 Honda in the garage and roll it out to the meter which it plugs into with a heavy yellow cable . It’s pretty a heavy roll for an old guy but I like having it stored out of the weather . Only had to use it once so far . Refreshing the fuel with new stuff is it’s major maintenance.

No. I live in a townhouse and there’s no place to install one. There’s not enough space for clearances or to install a unit. I’ve thought about other options but at the moment none are feasible at the moment. We’re just out of luck for now.
That is indeed a bummer. It's getting to the point where generators are a necessity. You don't need one often; but when you do...

Be safe and take care. Please keep us posted.

Probably not wise to answer that one , but he seemed like a great guy and definitely very intelligent . Busch was far from being a great President but I enjoyed his act , a bit of fresh air , compared what the Presidency can often become .
Al isn't stupid, just one of the best con artists ever...LOL

I agree , how did we get headed in that direction anyway ?
In summary , we were told by scientists fifty years ago this0t weather was going happen , it has , and I bought a generator .
Glad you have a generator. TUP

65 years ago scientists were telling us we were heading for another ice age. I'm a cynic. I've lived long enough to realize that not everyone, including scientists, are honest. Many have their own agendas that they push.

The earth's climate is dynamic; it has never been static. The climate has been considerably warmer than it is today in the past and those periods were definitely not caused by human activity. Nor were the ice ages caused by human activities. The climate changes like the tides only much more slowly. Our meager efforts are puny compared to the forces of nature. Humans cannot subdue nature.

Therefore I don't dwell on nor worry about predictions. I just turn on my ac when needed and my heat when needed. BGRIN

Couldn't agree more !! its funny how when you have adverse weather events they always say its the worst since 1932 or 1550 , so in most cases its always been worse before ?

Well no sign of Centerpoint since they drove off two days ago.

There’s three center point vehicles there. The two large trucks just parked for an hour and a half and left. That must have been their assessment period.

Bye bye Centerpoint truck! LoL. So they marked my area as assessed with no projected timeline.

Apparently someone threatened a Centerpoint crew with a gun of some type. People have been advised to stay away from the crews. I believe I can still go sit outside and scowl at them when they eventually show up again. On the bright side the two of us managed to lift the garage door and I picked up lunch. Two sandwiches, 8 slices of cold watermelon and a bag of ice. At least we can have cold drinks for a few hours! Be careful out there y’all, life is an adventure!

That it is. From experience. You get power restored much quicker if you live close to a hospital or school.
