There are still many months until the new riding season. The land is covered in white snow, the lakes have thick ice and the temperature stays between -5 C and -10 C. But as always, spring comes every year. Even now, in the second half of February, daylight hours are 3-4 hours longer per day than at Christmas and are getting longer all the time.

I am considering buying another helmet. It would be practical to own another helmet. For example, our summer place has, e.g. still my old 125cm bike. I like my AGV Sportmodular. It is very light for being modular helmet. Perhaps the lightest modular helmets ever made (even the chin bar is made of carbon). Size M weighs 1336g. Since safety is still my priority 1, I only look full face helmets. On the other hand, I know that weight matters to me. (perhaps more than many). My first helmet was a Schuberth C4. I wanted something lighter and bought that AGV. I'll admit that Schuberth felt better made (in your hands), but time after time I still chose to wear AGV. Eventually, I sold the Schuberth. Knowing that, the new helmet shouldn't weigh much more than Sportmodular.

My 3 candidates (all EC 22.06 approved) are:

1.) Klim Krios Pro. The lightest adventure helmet on the market (M size 1303g). In terms of weight, so this would even exceed my AGV (and it has a removable solar peak). This is an expensive helmet (vs. the other two) ... but since it's will be used for several years ... I don't (try to) overthink it. The bottom line is that I would use/love it. There is also a sun visor (like on my AGV).

2.) Airoh Commander 2. This is another adventure type of helmet. Perhaps the second lightest on the market (M size 1450g)? This is clearly cheaper than Klim above and with some youtube videos ... should be very comfortable. Matt green color would also match well with my matt green tiger. But this already weight more than my AGV. Still not nearly as much as my ex. Schuberth C 4 (almost 1700g).

3.) AGV K6s. This is a normal full face helmet (sports touring type). This is perhaps the lightest on the market (M size, weight 1295 g)? There is no sun visor here, but a self-tinting visor is available for the helmet. One advantage would be to be able to use my already existing AGV (Sena) ARK communication unit. I would need to buy another plastic base adapter (cheap) and microphone - speakers with wires (not expensive either). Those are sold separately.

PS: I know there is another lighter helmet (Roof R200 carbon) and the new EC 22.06 version was just released. This weighs only 1090g (M-size), but is more of a racing helmet than a sport touring helmet. There is no sun visor here (and possible darker visors are only allowed in tracks). Like racing helmets, this one is said to be quite noisy and the ventilation isn't the best. This is also quite expensive (same price level as Klip). Not for me :)
