I've been wearing HJC helmets for years, but only crash-tested one in Peru four years ago.
I didn't land on my head or do a face plant per se, but it took a hard hit to the face and the flip-up stayed together.
I replaced it with another HJC. They fit well and I think they're safe and good value for the money.
Money isn't an issue, so if it was proven that another brand was safer I would switch quickly.
HJC just came out with a newer higher-priced model that's up there in Shoei price country.

I'm not a cheapskate, but I tend to buy last years riding clothing. The fact that it's last years model doesn't bother me and the prices are usually a bargain. If I bought the jacket new last year, and intended to keep it for a few years, what difference does it make if you start out one year old?
If it was good enough in 2012, it will be good enough in 2013, 14, 15+.

You mean they don't make pointy-topped ones?

LOL......just kidding....it was just too tempting of a set-up! :)

Dang it, you found the truth. :y2:

They did but found they never sold that well

ROTFL Only problem is the idiots around here seem to try and run over the safety cones. . . might be pressing my luck with that one.

Now that one may just be what I need to look for.

Latest update on Aharbi. . .

I am happy to hear he is back home and doing better.

"I played phone tag with Aharbi while I was traveling for work. He called while my phone was off on the plane and left a message stated that he was released and is back at home. He still gets dizzy on occasion, but all seems to be getting better. Looks like ATGATT definitely saved him from the worst.....

I really appreciate all the comments and I'm sure Aharbi does as well. It's good to see some positive things are coming out of this unfortunate situation. Glad to hear people are talking about ICE information now. Before this happened I never gave it any thought at all, but I tell ya, having been through it now it was a frustrating situation. I wanted to do anything possible to help, but actually felt very helpless in the process. As I stated in my original post, chalk it up as another life lesson learned. I'm just glad he's doing better.......

Thanks again to everyone. This is a great community!!"
