Yes, it's been a long long time for all of us Prates faithful.

I stuck behind my team - been a Bucs fan since the 1950's. But it was hard to admit to being a Pirates fan the last 20 years!!!

What's best is that they did it the right way....through drafting and mentoring guys in the minors. It's a smaller market and we can't afford to buy a team.

The only bad thing is that with all the games being sold out now, I can't use the two-for-one free game tickets that can only be used if there are seats available.

Its O.K. Man the worm turns eventually. I have spent 40 years as an Indians and Browns fan through thick and thin......thats what it means to be a fan. Anyone can "LOVE" a winner......support a looser for a decade or 2 and you separate the Men from the boys

Yep, I feel the same way.

We call those people "bandwagon" fans.

Many true fans hate the bandwagoners, but I figure it's a whole new generation of fans and that can't be bad.

PS: This thread spurred me to ride the old Trophy down to the stadium box office and get tickets for two of the remaining games.....wearing my #21 Roberto Clemente jersey!

First playoff game in Pittsburgh in 21 years! First ever playoff game at PNC Park.

Check it out on TV tonight....the stadium will be all in black.

Across town at CONSOL Energy Center the Penguins showed their support (just as the Pirates did last season when the Pens were in the playoffs) by putting on Pirate jerseys and playing whiffle ball in the ice after practice....
