When I bought my H***a it didn't have a centerstand so I bought a rear paddock stand on sale at the local dealer.
I eventually bought and fitted a centerstand, but I still use the paddock stand for chain cleaning, lubing and getting the rear of the bike clean.
Later on I also bought a front paddock stand on sale for the same bike. It's nice to get the bike completely up off the floor when I want to do an intense cleaning, service, whatever. I sit on my little stool on wheels and off I go :y2:

I can see the advantage of doing it like that Rocky
It is a great advantage.
For example, last September after 12 days in Newfoundland, and often in wet weather and a couple of dirt roads, the bike was beyond filthy.
I put the bike up on the paddock stands and left it there for two days while I got into every nook and cranny to get it clean.

That is what I do with the motorcycle jack. I wish I could afford a proper motorcycle lift such as they use in shops.

I have always wanted a proper bench-type lift too, but I have limited space in my basement and they're very heavy to move around.
I built one out of wood and leave it on its side in the basement. It's only strong enough for my lighter vintage bikes and makes working on them easier on the knees and back.
Ideally, I would like to be able to move the lift from the basement to the garage and back, but my garage is only a single car garage so there's not much space to spare when all the bikes are in there. Even though the home-made lift is wood it's very heavy too so it stays where it is.
