Hey fuzzy...
I hope you got through this one unscathed. They were saying that the track was bringing it right across the big "O", and I was concerned about you. I hope all is well.

Bob

Sun has not poked through all day here. Had a gust of 81 MPH recorded at the top of the lake at Taylor Creek. School has been cancelled in Okeechobee due to power outages at at least two schools. We came throught this one really well. Wind took my downspouts and some spare shingles I was "storing" on the roof are now next door. Porch flooded and water started seeping in a doorway. I had to get out there with a broom during the worse of the storm and sweep water through a doorway. Septic tank and drain field are saturated, so we can't get a flush. Wind still blowin' and more rain on the way. Dad's got a yard full of cabbage fans, so my work is cut out for me for tomorrow. Upside is, we will have a great day of airboating Thursday. Zoom, Zoom.

Very little problems at all.

Shyguy, thanks for checking in. Watching the radar, I was concerned about you and Fuzzy. I saw a lot of tornado warnings over your way. Glad you and Fuzzy have both weathered the storm. It looks like Jacksonville/Ponte Vedra are in for a pretty good blow. This is the first TS I can remember strengthening while it was over land!

Y'all stay dry.

You won't believe this.

I phoned the website administrator of a military site I am on. She lives in St. Augustine and never, I mean never, watches television, listens to the radio, or reads a newspaper. Only hits the high spots of the news on the web. She had heard nothing of Fay's projected track. I hope we don't end up readin' about her.

Carl mate.....hearing of some trees down in your area....everything cool your way mate? Things here are just picking up a bit.....its 8.18pm. Think we still got a fair bit to come mate.

Good grief! In Florida you monitor the tropics for survival!

Hi Steve, things are fine here; the electricity has not even flickered. It got a little gusty about two hours ago. We are just on the leading edge of the heavy stuff. And you are right; we have more coming throughout the night. Stay safe and dry, mate. Thanks for checking in.

It is now "the day after Fay" as they have been saying on TV this morning. Still more wind and rain overnight, and many many roads are still flooded, but not much serious damage. It was a good practice run, I think, for what may be to come in the future. At least now I know where the challenges will be for me.
I'm glad to hear that everyone else in Florida has survived quite well thus far. I'm sure glad this was "just a tropical storm".....

Yes indeed; we were blessed it was not a major storm. North Florida will be getting it later today and tomorrow. She appears to be stalled out over Melbourne. We aren't getting much rain now; but it is a skosh breezy! I haven't heard form Mike or Geoff (Bondine) since early last evening and they are in the center of it now.

NO WE DO NOT!!! But we did need the rain from this one - and it is not over. Fay is still southeast of us approaching Cape Canaveral. She is predicted to turn northwest, come across the northern peninsula then across the panhandle into Alabama. She will be around the state into Sunday. We will still be getting the winds and rain today and tomorrow as she passes north of us.

This is the first time in my memory that one gained strength while over land. From what little I know about these things, I assume it was because the feeder bands were out of the warm ocean and warmer Gulf Stream and picking up that energy from the warm water.
