Just curious if anyone has actually bought and used the Dealer Tool program and connector? I am contemplating getting it as it sounds like it will save you a lot in the long run with regards to dealer scans, etc.
Ive had it for a couple of years now . Its very easy to use and worth while having

9,000 miles in 3 months. I am overall very happy with it.

After riding my Honda VTX and Yamaha Royal Star Venture for 125,000 the Tiger seat is rough on me. I just had it reworked so hoping butt comfort improves. I am getting used to the chain drive with a Scottoiler. I sure like how nibble it is compared to my RSV.

Next summer I'll leave Texas to ride the Trans Labrador Highway, tour Newfoundland, and Nova Scotia before riding back to Texas.

Thanks brooke.
I'll have to check out your report. If you don't mind send me a message with you email. Once my buddy and I finalize our trip we may be able to meet up with you for lunch.

I was to tour Newfoundland and Labrador along with Nova Scotia in 2016. I left Texas on a Saddle Sore 1000 ride to Virginia for a short visit with a friend. I made it up to Maine a little behind schedule. I crossed the longest covered bridge in the world at Heartland, New Brunswick. Made a short trip to PEI (I toured it by car in 1975) before renting a cabin near Hawkesbury, NS for two nights.

The next day I was to ride the Cabot Trail and return to the cabin. However, at my last stop for a scenic picture before returning to my cabin, I hit a pot hole just as I was stopping. My motorcycle fell over and broke my leg. So my trip was over. No Newfoundland and Labrador.

I was in the hospital for a few days in Sydney. The care was great. Surgery went fine. A fellow who lives not far from where it happened took care of my motorcycle until Med Jet shipped it to me. We are friends now. I will visit him on this next trip. My flight home was long but very good.

I was very disappointed to say the least. Not only was my vacation over but my Honda VTX was not going to make it to Newfoundland and Labrador. It had already taken me to 49 states and all Canadian provinces with roads except Newfoundland and Labrador.

I planned for another trip to Newfoundland on my Yamaha Royal Star Venture in 2020 but COVID hit.

Now that I own the Tiger the Trans Lab seems logical. I am praying that this time all will go well.

Hey Brooke
I Read your report. Great. Fantastic pictures.

I understand all of the Trans Lab is pave now. If the pavement is anything like the little of bit of "pavement" on the Dalton, dirt and gravel would be better. LOL

Yes it’s black top now . Hard to believe we were there in August and early next July it was done . Things are really going to open up and there’s still dirt road for an hour just south of Labrador City but it’s as good as pavement . Send me a note ..

BTW, I did ride my VTX to Meat Cove, Nova Scotia (northern most settlement in NS) before I broke my leg. That was one very rough road. It would have been rough even on the Tiger.

I broke my leg at a scenic overlook between Ingonish Ferry and Wreck Cove. The fellow that took care of my VTX until it was shipped home lives at Ingonish Ferry.

I did a write up of my 2016 Misadventure on the VTXOA forum.

That corner can come up on you a little quickly . The trail in that area has undergone huge changes recently . The road at Smokey has been moved back into the mountain fifty yards or so at the look out and lots of new pavement continuing south to the main hiway . Perfect if you’re have trouble keeping up to the limit .

I must amend my complaint about DealerTool.

First off they did respond but from the sales department. When I searched my SPAM I was searching for customer service. I usually ignore anything with sales in it.

Their response did not help though. However, after many communications my problem is finally corrected. I was partially to blame but their instructions were not clear enough for this old fart.

So I will have to say their customer service was excellent.

My apologies.

Hi John, just wondering from where you purchased the dealer tool and software as I am also looking to order it now. I am situated in South Africa. :y28:
Hi Sandster

I am also here in SA and was wondering if you purchased the tool or not. A bit worried about the state of our postal service, and if the tool ever got to you

Oh yes I bought the dealer tool 3 years ago for my 2019 Scrambler XC and it works great and is a money saver to reset codes and service wrench

I have come across this site before but didn't trust whether it was genuine, can you use this programme to adjust throttle bodies and check all the systems on the machine? I have a street triple but this was the only thread I could find about the tool.
Yes it does all that easy to use works very well, well worth the money
