1950 T6 Thunderbird, I would like to pot a larger tire on the rear, any suggestions?

What is the stock size for your bike? Also, can you take a measurement between your swing arms where the widest part of the existing tire passes between?

I have fitted tires in the stock size for my bike—in the rear, 4.00-18”—but the Bridgestone Battlax in that size is wider than the OEM brand, which was on the bike when I bought it. So, merely fitting the Battlax in the stock size netted a wider tire (up front, too). Here are photos of the clearance on my bike—first three are rear, last two are front...

I did not have to modify anything—but can compare my swing arm to yours if you provide measurements.
