I am thinking of buying a new Bonnie.
What do you think? All input welcome good or bad, and don't worry to much about its personal choice, the info on the net is confusing........all the specs are fuel injection but all the pictures show carby's.

I have the 14 with all the speed and limb separating torque, so now I need something classic but practical even two up. Just wish the fuel tank was bigger, and the cast wheels I think is over kill.
I am asking input because I have no clue or experience of the specific bike.

thanx Johnny

No question about it,you need a T100.
The fuel injection throttle bodies are made to look like carbs.
The cast wheels are only on the SE model so don't be put off by them, the T100 has real wheels,i.e.spokes.

I recommend for what is worth to hold off for the new 2015 models as if rumours are true will be coming out with a 1200cc motor! If so I want a new Bonneville too!

The only down side of it they never put a seat on it and substituted it for one of these but I believe you guys are as tough as nails :y2:

Jokes aside you would possibly need to look at modifying the seat as I could never ride far on it as standard

If that is the case I will hang on for the big CC's. I like the spoke wheels, I like the two tone paint, I also like the silver.
The whole look of the Bonnie just works for me, the engine.
The seat can be re-done to make it comfy.
Thanx for the input so far, please don't stop keep coming with the comments.

I really like the Bonnie but at the time I went with the Speedmaster. They seemed to have something about the seats with this range as that was the fist mod I had to do is change it out. The sound of a 1200 Bonnie sure does sound neat

Yeah my mate was the Marketing Manager at Triumph Australia and he indicated 2015 will be a new model Bonneville with possibly a 1200cc motor and the front end off the Street a Triple which if it comes true I will want one real bad, I installed the King and Queen seat (Triumph Accessory) at first did not really like the look but it has worn on me and I like it now.....but the comfort two up us fantastic!

I have the King & Queen seat too, but also don't like the look of it.
But it's a good seat and I use it once in a while.
I always ride alone and bought it for my own comfort when I feel the need.
I hadn't heard about the possibility of a bigger engine in 2015, but doubt I will change up.

Hi Rocky I didn't like the look of the seat but it has grown on me and love the comfort as we do a lot of two up riding and it keeps the wife happy.

If the next Bonnie does not have a larger engine worth the change I will install a big bore kit, cam and head flow ported, Throttle bodies bored out or larger installed, and have been looking at the various options however in Australia we are talking big dollars which is why it may be more cost effective to update to the new Bonnie.

I can't wait to find out what the next model will come out with!

If the big CC's don't come to life, it won't be a big thing, I can also go the US import big CC's kit. I am fairly convinced the Bonnie is capable of standing its ground, I wonder if the local Triumph shop will let me test ride a Bonnie for a few hours.
I had the gel seat genuine Triumph part on my 675 and that was worth it's money.

I have a surprise for you Bonnie fans, now don't quote me I am relaying the info, but see no reason this guy (my new boss from 17/02/2014) has any reason to tell fibs.
In the foyer of his shop, is on display, a fully restored Bonnie..................the info as follows,
It is the bike that won the last 24 hour race held in Australia, he has welded some extra cooling fins on the engine to prep the bike for the race, according to him you need to really know the Bonnie engine before you will notice them, the bike is still the original internals and externals it was bought with, he restored it 14 years ago and for the initial start up to make sure everything is what it should be, she has not run or been ridden in 14 years.
Will take picky's and show you lot soon.

Wow look forward to seeing the pics sounds very nice bike to have! From what I can see the heads ported and 813 cam sounds like the best mods for most gain ( of course matching intake to suit) The 904 cc kit is cost effective and from what. I can see with the above mods as well should have around 75 - 85 rear wheel horsepower which is pretty good. the bigger bore kits such as 998 cc or larger have reports up to 104 rwhp. Mmmmm sounds like fun!

I really like my Bonnie T100. It is a great all around bike. It does not excel at anything; but it does most everything well. I have a sheepskin seat cover on my seat and it does wonders. I have done 600+ miles in a day on mine several times.

Sure are a great bike Carl! I just love to modify and are checking out pricing for head porting, cams and 904cc big bore kit to see what it works out price wise as it may be more cost effective to purchase the 2015 Bonnie if it comes with the big bore motor as rumoured
