Would you lend your bike to someone for a track day?

Hell no!

I do need someone to come out here and take her for a good run since I am unable to ride. It's not good for a bike to sit idle.

If you can afford one of those things, you can probably afford another!
Seriously though,to answer the question, back in 1971 I lent my first bike(Honda CL450)to a friend to do the Roof of Africa rally. He was doing pretty well till he crashed out! You do these things when you're young and idealistic. I think I was probably trying to impress his sister.

LOL! We have all done stupid things to that end!

I never let anyone ride my bikes and I never ask to ride theirs.
I would hate to put a scratch on another persons bike and I wouldn't want that to happen to mine either.
Strange as it may seem, I don't have the same feelings about my car

For a ride out I have lent my T-Bird to a fellow Triumph Rider (Rocket 3) who now wants to buy it . For a track day never ! :oh:

I really don’t enjoy riding someone else’s bike I am also so worried that I may damage it. On the same note I will not even get on a bike to feel it if I have not asked or been invited.

How about a guy I had never met before, offering to let me race his 72 Kawasaki H1 500 triple in AHRMA Formula 500?

I took my first podium spot (3rd) in the first race on it! I took two 2nd place finishes on it, two more 3rd place finishes, two 5th place, and a 6th, to finish 3rd overall in season points. I only put the wheels in the grass ONE TIME after getting air with both tires flying over the hump at Grattan, MI, and I couldn't haul it down in time to make the hairpin; I did get right back on the track to finish 5th.

While I have ridden triples, it had been a long time since the last time, and the bike is set up for GP style shifting (down for all 5 gears), and the shifter is on the Left; I'm used to racing with my Bonny that is one down, three up, on the RIGHT side. Also, the Kwak didn't have any rear brakes (that's why I missed that hairpin), and I'm used to having one, although the drilled dual front discs can haul that sucker down pretty quick.

Anyway, I did manage to blow a cylinder liner on it after two-in-a-row 2nd place finishes at Miller Motorsports park, and ran the rest of the season on a swap meet bike engine (what are the odds you'd find a bike with a good engine at a swap meet at the race track where you were going to race next?). The owner of the bike blew the whole thing off saying 3 other people had raced it in the last 10 years and it was time for an overhaul anyway. The guy is of the best sort.

There are a lot more details of this season in the racing section, it was unbelievable.
