Good question. Sticking with adventure bikes, possibly a KTM or Guzzi. Although the next V-Strom seems to have the look(ish) of the Multi Strada (Dukes are way out of my price range)
I guess my old 1978 Suzuki GS 770 DB would be my choice. ( My FJ1200 would be a very close second ) This is the bike that took me round all of Western Europe North to South West to East before the wall came down. Only ever had 2 problems with her. The condenser packed up in Austria, and a front wheel puncture in Northern Norway. Never blew a light bulb, fuse or anything. Sold it in 1991 after 12 years of ownership, and she's still going today.
hard to say because if not for the john bloor triumph company i may not even be riding anymore. It's what got me back into riding after a hiatus. But to make the question more general, if i couldn't ride a Tbird i would probably be on a Vmax or some sort of power cruiser type of bike. The Ducati Diavel maybe, tho too sportbike looking for my tastes, but it IS apparently a killer ride. The Vrod would be a big contender if it didn't have the HD badge. Not sure i could ever go there. But the muscle version might be tempting. None really do it for me anywhere near like the Tbird tho so i'd hate to have to go there. I like parallel engines and no one seems to be making those anymore but triumph, especially twins. Just glad i don't have to choose ! The bird is my dream bike and nothing comes close for me.
Yep I would probably be right with ya Carl. The Stroms not a bad bike at all. And my "practical" (read CHEAP) side would most likely win out. Plus its about the most Tiger like of all.......well except for THIS FREAKIN BEAST!!!!! YEP, thats an ITALIAN Triple......errrr I am having a "crisis".......
