Carl, I think you're going to find that FHP is really cracking down on the use of shoulders/emergency lanes ever since they passed the law about clearing the lane next to a stopped emergency vehicle. I know two friends who have received tickets for riding the shoulder/emergency lanes in the past 6 months.Me, too. But I can more easily talk my way out of a ticket for using the emergency lane that I can a ticket for splitting lanes.
Over here you can lane split in a safe manner.
If you did it at speed you would probably get pulled over.
We are also allowed to use bus lanes on motorways in most urban areas.
Over here,the majority of motorists will actually move if they can,to let you through, but then we are more courteous than gun toting over here.![]()
