What would you ride "if"?

So, thumbing through the latest bike mag it hit me. Then seeing the video Antmakka posted about "Why I ride a Triumph" and I just had to ask this question.

What WOULD YOU RIDE IF TRIUMPH HAD NEVER RE-OPENED? If John Bloor had bought a boat building company instead of Triumph, what would you ride, right now.

I know we all LOVE our Triumphs, and I shudder to think of a world without my Tiger for sure. But, just what "if".

I'll kick it off, I think I would still be on a dual sport bike, and most likely --though I would prefer the KTM Adventure or Ducatti or Moto Guzzi Stelvio, I'll be honest in saying I would most likely be on a 1000cc Suzuki V-strom. The practicality of the Suzuki over the others (read--cheap) would win out.

So lets hear it. Not your "Dream bike" realistically, what would your daily rider be if Triumphs wherent available.

Yes, I would definitely ride. I would have bought a Kawasaki W650 and a dual sport, probably a BMW F800GS. I would still have my 68 TR6R Trophy. But I would sure miss the modern Triumph triple engine.

It would still have to be a triumph. Can't think of any other bike i would want. I've had and ridden Suzi's, hnda's, Bsa's, harley's & triumphs and would have to have a trumpy.

But in this thread.....Triumph doesn't exist after 1983. So ya gotta ride something else. What would be your next choice?

There is now a Kawasaki W800, but I don't know if it is is (or will be) available here.
I would choose that for the "Triumph" retro look.
As much as I like Triumph I'm also partial to Honda and would have one of the new CB1100 retro bike's.
I already have a Honda road burner that I'm very happy with, but the lure of the CB1100 pulls at me :y2: and the thought of trading/selling keeps nagging at me :y15:
If I had no bikes at all I'm sure I would also opt for a BMW GS800 or one of those smaller dual-purpose models.
I rode the GS650 on two motorcycle tours and really like that size/model.
Monster bikes like a Goldwing have no appeal for me.

Well if this scenario had become actuality then my bikes would be a KTM Adventure or a Buell Ulysses. When I found Black Betty the KTM and Uly were on the short list and could have easily become my current ride.

I have so far resisted the urge to own a "New" Triumph so I guess I'd still be riding my Kawasaki Z1a, this is my modern bike for the road. Although I doo look enviously at Moto Guzzi Le Mans 111 and regret selling mine, these are only sligthly less old than the Kawasaki.
