I had a couple hours so decided in this heat not to ride. Instead, I checked the valves for gap and found them to be in spec but a couple were just barely so. Will now pull the cams to get the shim sizes to put them more in the center of specs. Hopefully I will have the size I need. If not, I found that some Hondas use the size so I won't have to order from Triumph as the large local Honda dealer has most in stock.
 
I picked up a new chrome cam cover for my T120 at a bargain price. It came with a new gasket and seals. It should be fairly easy, if a bit fiddly, to fit once the tank is off. A nice wee winter job I think.

I picked up my vapour blasted Tiger 750 head and rocker boxes today. Looking nice and clean without the 50+ years of grime. They should look nice on top of the newly painted barrels. A PO had used a mish mash of studs and washers with some small diameter washer dents visible on the head, I am treating it to new thick washer as specified for the outer head bolts.

I used Cylinder Black, it's been my go-to for years and never lets me down. It only requires one coat, doesn't really show brush marks, has better heat resistance than many aerosols and is very durable. I use a cheap 1" angled flat brush (thin artists type) which is able to reach the root of the fins plus a artists paint brush for the fiddly bits around the push rod guides.
 
After a 120 mi spin on the '70 T120R: Sealed slight oil drip from primary case at the 2 Stator Studs, replaced 2 Passenger Peg Rubbers. Primary cover itself NO LEAKS in 2 months! And YES, oil is topped off. Checked out all systems and found 1 loose wire on 1 Coil (snipped it off and replaced with NEW connector). Performed another complete service 2 weeks ago and R&R'd 2 Gaiters and Fresh Oil up front.
'68 T120 LSR: tacked up a few more tabs and configuring Tach and Oil Pressure Gauges and Modified the Steering Stabilizer required for Salt Flats.
And just sat there admiring Pure Vintage Brit Power.
BTW, I have 2 Amals (L&R) from my '68 T120R engine. Solid Clean Carbs although the right carb needs a top cover and both would do well with rebuilds. Been covered in a barn for 45 yrs?? MAKE OFFER.

neighbors wrecked racer ($175...3 interesting months in Dads workshop plus $200 in parts). The chicks DUG IT because it spit oil and made flames.. My buddies with big dough and new T100 and T120's did NOT spit as much oil as me! A leather jacket and boots (NO Lid, )Adios...
SOOOO many FIBBERS out there too....K Models were NEVER 1 KICK.....OK, they were but you had to stomp on it at least 6 prior try's!

I refitted my repainted barrels and refurbished cylinder head to my 1973 Tiger 750 using a copper head gasket and some replacement fasteners to replace the mish mash I found.

I had the head vapour blasted and replaced the badly pitted exhaust valves with LF Harris ones I got at a bargain price. I also picked up some NOS inlet valves, still in the original grease and cheap as chips. After measuring the head crush I fitted thin white seals to the push rod tubes - the originals were a mangled mess and probably too thick.

Next job is to fit the repaired rocker boxes which I have modified to use the recommended thrust washer arrangement to enhance the rocker lubrication.
