Rocky lives in the tropics compared to me in the Winter. -8C(17.6 F) here now.
I'll take Carl's temps right about now.
Having lived in both colder and warmer climates, I’m pretty happy where I am. Working in my garage and my view outside as the temp approaches 20C. Taking a break sitting and watching people and cars go by.

I’m sure the winter scenery is just gorgeous, but the plus side here is no snow shoveling or winter tires needed. If I wasn’t busy. I’d go for a ride. Y’all keep warm! (Ok, sorry for the cruelty.)

Side note, today seen one car accident at the intersection next to our building, bunch of bicyclists, pedestrians, and dog walkers. Just as I posted, a girl, 30 something, in a miniskirt walked by with her Labrador. Oldster like me might get a heart attack! LoL!

One day I was experimenting with Google Street View . Left my driveway , went down the street around the corner and there’s the wife and neighbor chatting by the mail box . A little VW with Google wrapping and stuff attached to the roof had been buzzing around town a month before.

A couple of weeks ago .
A nice day so we headed down the County Line rd to the dangerous cliffs at Cape Bear and saw a couple of fishing boats . After an order the best fish n chips around we headed home cleaned up the bikes and waited for the snow a couple of days later . Since then I serviced the chain , applied wax and armour all before putting her in the stall for winter .

I finished rebuilding the rear suspension on my 73 Tiger 750. I initially stripped it because the rubber seals were missing and/ or damaged. This combined with a lack of lubrication resulted in badly corroded spacers and damaged bushes.

I have fitted new spacers and bushes which had to be reamed. Whist I had everything dismantled I used Jenolite to freshen up the normally inaccessible black parts and swing arm. I also fitted 45 degree grease nipples to aid future maintenance and tidied up the Koni Dial-a-ride shocks.

Looking mighty fine. TUP

After four straight days of unseasonably stormy weather - rain, winds gusting to 50 plus mph/80 plus kph - we finally got some relief. The system moved across the state and into the Atlantic. A little before noon today I saw this fiery orb in the sky and realized that it was the sun! Wind speeds decreased to around 20 mph/32 kph. I went for about an hours ride on local suburban streets. It was good to get out on two wheels and I desperately needed the wind therapy.

We are getting your storm tonight when the overnight low will be 12 C . 2 weeks ago it made 17.5 C on the north side of the Island . When I was kid we were skating on the ponds by now .

I got them from Namrick on eBay but they have them on their site as well:

They are 1/4" bsf thread. I used copper washers rather than fibre ones as I could tweak the thickness with a hammer to ensure they pointed in the right direction and didn't protrude too far in to the bush holder. Hope that makes sense?

I have been tracking this storm as it moved up the coast. I see that you are getting it. The low pressure system developed in the Gulf of Mexico, moved slowly across Florida into the Atlantic and turned north. Everyone on the East coast from Key West to you are getting a taste of it. It was 59F/15C this morning. This is cold for South Florida. Screwy weather for sure.

It got to 15 c on the North shore here yesterday also . The north side is far enough ( 2 to 40 miles ) from the south side that a south wind comes right off the water , keeps us a little cooler before gathering some heat off the land and reaching the north shore communities . On a day when it’s really a hot or cold ride we stick to either shore accordingly . The Keys probably aren’t wide enough for that , would be nice to be there
for fish and Key Lime pie though .
