I hope these posts are not boring you all. Here is the latest from the 08:00 advisory. I think these maps will explain my decision not to evacuate.
1. Going south would not change anything as far as the weather is concerned.
2. I would have to.go way north and west to get out of harms way. And that would take me right into to the heavily damaged areas from Helene.
There is no telling when I could get back home as I would have to traverse the damaged areas that Milton will leave behind.

The blue circle is my location. I'm in for some stormy weather. But hopefully not destructive weather.

Looks like it’s veering a bit north. You’re in for a rough night @CarlS , the storm area is expanding so be mindful of the tropical winds. Hopefully you’re already in your hotel room by now.
Milton has missed me. I am getting tropical storm force winds. But I get those in summer thunderstorms. I have taken my flags down and secured everything. I canceled my motel yesterday after carefully studying the projected path. I am at home. My worst winds will be around 01:00 in the morning. Central Florida from Sarasota to Melbourne will be devastated.

Be safe Carl and if any other members in Florida as well.
Thank you very much. I will post tomorrow to let you know I'm okay.

I live where the blue circle is.

Thank you, Sikatri and Rocky. I'm very happy to report no damage to my property or any of the properties around me. I did and inspection at sun up this morning. I only had a few pieces of debris to pick up.

The sun is out and it is a beautiful day, but a bit breezy. We will be under a wind advisory until 4 PM. Lots of tornado damage in the counties north of me.

I'm very thankful.

Awesome news!

Apparently people were swimming here yesterday Oct 21 . My wife always tries to get in once in October but doesn’t happen often . She’s a big fan of climate change , it gives her more time away from me at the cottage . It got to 20 C yesterday , lots of bikes out all weekend including me but the golf was great too . Course is closing next Monday , so naturally I’m po’d about that .
Just got the email , the new tiger 800 is released .

Same temps here too on the Atlantic coast where it's normally cooler. Sunday and yesterday there were many bikes on the streets and roads.
Hurricane season is nearly over, and it looks like we won't get any serious weather coming our way this year - sez I with fingers crossed BGRIN

Well......it seems I spoke too soon. Local forecasters are now saying that Oscar will pass close enough on Thursday and Friday to give us a good soaking.
It won't be a windstorm, so no damage is expected but flooding in some areas may cause some problems.
I'm on high ground in the center of the city so flooding is not a problem for me. It's the suburban and rural areas that may get some flooding.
