Vin Help

I have been lusting for an older Bonneville and need help with the VIN of one I am looking at. The VIN begins with T140VPP followed by a 5 digit serial. The T140V I understand as a 750cc 5 speed Bonneville and I understand the PP to be a date code but I can't figure out what that date is. Can anyone help me out?

That's a November '76 build, so it's a '77 model.

I went and checked out the bike. It runs great, just needs a little love. I compared the vin on title and bike and the title has an extra digit. The seller is going to DMV to straighten it out.

The vin serial number could be full of paint or powdercoat...
