I had a nice ride today. I rode to Jacksonville to visit Sargents Custom Seats and to look at at a truck for sale. I rode 268 miles/431 kilometers. My moving average speed over the whole trip was 71.1 miles per hour/114.4 kilometers per hour. That includes local driving in Jacksonville. The Tiger runs well!.

I took the camera to get some pics; I had and idea for the latest theme that I could have done in Jax. Alas, my memory card was full - not even space for one pic.

Sargents is a fairly big operation. Apparently motorcycle seats is a sideline and located in a separate building. Their main stay is custom auto interiors, repairing auto interiors, and replacing convertible tops.

The waiting and reception area in the motor cycle seat building is glassed in and you can view the entire shop as the employes build seats. It is a big operation.

The weather was perfect: about 85F/29C, a 10 to 12 mph wind and clear blue skies. I had a a good ride.

I never knew Sargent did more than motorcycle seats . . . guess I should have suspected it but the thought had never gone thru my mind.

I won't say anything about the full memory on the camera since I've been there, done that and got the T-Shirt. At least we now have you thinking about the camera. :y2:

ROFLMAO I would like to see those sketches!!!!!
I had a Sergent seat on my Speed3, honestly it seemed a bit hard compared to my current big fluffy pillow seat, but I can honestly say, not a single instance of "butt burn" ever with the SergentTUP

I had a very beautiful Corbin leather seat with burgundy piping on my burgundy (merlot) Trophy.

It was EX-PEN-SIVE!!!

But that's all it was....eye candy.

I was told by others to be patient while I broke it in and I'd live it.

That day never came even after around 25,000 miles. It was hard as a rock and I actually went back to the stock (nutcracker) saddle.

No need for a custom seat on the Tiger....Suits me perfectly........now the T160's piece of 4 x 2 hardwood is a very different story. Never noticed those things 35 years ago when I was roaring around on '70s Brit Iron....too young and bullet proof. WHOO

Very cool Carl TUP
I didn't know that about Sargent either.
I had a Corbin seat on another bike and it never did break in to any extent, but at least it was wider and gave more comfort on longer runs.

I have heard that complaint about Corbin seats many times. I have never ridden with a Corbin.

I don't have a problem with the stock seat either and have been in the saddle for over 600 miles in a day several times. But the pillion seat is awful. You know, happy wife = happy life. BGRIN
