Have you considered changing the front sprocket instead of the rear. Much less work involved. I changed the front sprockets on my two Bonneville T100's.
Hi Carl, I'm having the same problem. I've only been riding my new T100 for a couple of weeks and feel like the gear ratio is too short.
Could you please let me know which front sprockets you would recommend for a T100? Mine is from 2006 (865cc) carb.
Thanks in advance
Yves

It has been nearly 10 years since I sold my last T100. As best as I can remember. I went to a 17 tooth front sprocket.

I love my Tiger, but at 70 mph it is running almost 5k rpms. I'm thinking of dropping the rear sprocket from a 50 to a 47 (the smallest I can find). I don't know why no manufacturer makes 6th gear a road gear.....? Does anyone know of any issues, other than losing a little from 1st gear and spreading out the gearing a little more? Thanks!
Good evening,

When I changed my failed sprag clutch on my 1995 Triumph Thunderbird last summer I contemplated adding the last 6th gear, but decided I would change out the front drive sprocket from a 18 TPI to a 21 TPI on the front drive sprocket and the rear at 47 TPI. It is very noticeable at 100 Kilometer per hour with the RPM being at about 1950 - 2000 RPM.
I did this to several T-140’s when I owned them and the rpm dropped significantly.
I am not sure what year of Tiger you are referring too?

Iv been running 19 tooth for a couple of years but it still didn’t do it for me.i have now put a 40 tooth on the rear (yesterday) short ride and I’m happy. In fourth gear it felt like I was in 5th then slipped into 5th. If anyone is interested I’ll update when Iv ridden a little more

Update loving my new gearing never once went for the non existent 6th gear. 80klm 2650 rpm 90 klm 3000 rpm 100klm 3500rpm 120 4000rpm. Much more relaxed ride.riding the torque for me is much better than racing the engines slight difference pulling away but never a need to slip the clutch. I WONT be changing back. Considered changing bike but not now, loving it.

I think hunk it’s what I was looking for 80klm 2650 rpm 90klm 3000rpm 120 klm 4000. It pulls well in all gears however top gear doesn’t give much past 130 to reach 160 it has to be done in 4th
