Firstly, I increased the front sprocket on my Bonneville from 17T to 18T then reduced the rear from 43T to 41T, finally I changed the front for a 19T and this is where I will leave it. It has reduced the acceleration slightly but not too much and now the engine is much more "relaxed" at higher speed. Some owners go the other way but I definitely wouldn't, they rev too high for my liking with the standard gearing. Changing the front is easier and cheaper than the rear.I want to fit a reduced size rear sprocket on my street twin 900 by at least 2 teeth. Anybody done this?
Where did you get the sprocket from?
Any info much appreciated.

Interesting. Which Bonneville do you have and did you find the sprockets?Firstly, I increased the front sprocket on my Bonneville from 17T to 18T then reduced the rear from 43T to 41T, finally I changed the front for a 19T and this is where I will leave it. Sounds good to me. I have a 2002 which was originally 790cc but I swapped the barrels and pistons to make it 865cc. The rear sprocket is a Sunstar and the front is German made (I don't recall the name) from Square Deals.Interesting. Which Bonneville do you have and did you find the sprockets?
Esjot is the name of the sprocket that I bought from Square Deals.
That's what I'm after but apparently they don't fit the 2022 on models. Look all over even triumph site don't do them.Just go with the 17 tooth sprocket on the front . It will probably require no other changes . You can buy it any where . JT has a nice one with damping rubber on it ,very inexpensive, I believe they are oem on Triumph . It’s a 520 not a 525 .
I got it wrong too. It's a 19 tooth I want. I'll have a look on the jt site. ThanksSorry , I misunderstood and got you on the wrong track . A 17 t on your bike will gear it lower , the std on yours being an 18 you want a 19 or a 37 or 39 rear ( jtr 2014 ) . that’s assuming your bike came with the 41 rear . My tigers and Thruxton r all came with 16 t fronts and I put 17 teeth on at the first oil change , works for me . If you do want a 17 for a WC 900 jtr 1186rb should be the ticket . It’s in the jt catalogue for the Thruxton R , 16 or 17 teeth . 525 and 520 use the same sprocket . The 2022 models aren’t in the catalogue yet so assuming their the same as the 21 models .
