British Columbia RCMP released this video of a guy accelerating to over 140 kph when a train startles a young black bear.

The bear walked away unharmed but the biker sustained numerous and serious injuries (though not life threatening).

Looking at that a couple of times, I'm pretty sure target fixation may have played a part in that.
He didnt appear to alter course at all.

At that speed you don't have much time to react, but you're right, it looks like he didn't even try to take any evasive action.
