was watching the Allblack Springbok game last sunday (as you do) and saw it was a day/night game.
anyway,I noticed it had gone to night over there (Joberg ) when I heard the commentator say it was 6 pm. I couldnt believe it was pitch black at 6pm.
over here right now it doesnt get dark till 8ish and we are 5 weeks into spring.
Now I know we have daylight saving mode on now, but dark at 6.? Now I know why yous call it darkest Africa.

It's getting dark at about 7:20 or so and with fall its getting earlier. Plus we are still on day light savings time.

This time of year it's pretty dark at 7:00 PM and getting darker earlier by a couple of minutes every day.
After the time changes, and by 21 December, it will be quite dark at 5:00 PM - then the daylight hours start to get longer.

It dark about 7:40 PM/19:40 here on daylight savings time. by the middle of December, we will be off daylight savings time and it will be dark at 6:00 PM/18:00.

I am with Tony about picking one or the other and leaving it alone. Part of the problem in the US is the SIZE of our timezones.

Below is a link to a google map with a travel route from Pensacola, Florida to Pecos, TX. It is about 1140 highway miles. It would take about 19 hours to drive.

It is all in the same timezone. Sunrise and Sunset times vary over 1 hour between each end.

To make matters worse, Arizona does not participate in Daylight Savings Time. When the rest of this country goes into Daylight Savings Time, Arizona's time shifts to the same as Pacific Time...............
