Slip On Mufflers Need Retune?

Most modern Triumphs don't need a retune after installing most slip-on mufflers. The bike will relearn itself after a restart or two. Arrow is one of the only ones that need a retune.

A check with the Manufacturer of your slip-ons should let you know if theirs requires a retune. You can always do the Arrow retune if you want to.

Thanks for your response. I would like a little more sound , but don't want to play with tune ECU until the warranty is over.

I can't play with my ECU, stuck with sewing machine sounding pipes . Emissions ya know, much better for the fools on road not to hear me while they run me over, might wake them up if bike sounded like a motorcycle. not a happy camper with new ways of doing things in today's world.

The only ones that can "tune" our T'birds(LT and Commander) is Triumph. The ECU is locked. They have a tune for the Triumph TORS(Triumph Off Road) pipes that are an option for our rides. It's a mild retune from what I've read on it, but it's better than nothing. You may be able to get it with some aftermarket pipes as well, which would wake it up a bit.

triumph has 2 down loads other than stock for bike. If you want any other down load triumph has to be hooked-up with your bike at shop and do it. another words shop can not change ICU, only with their ok can it be changed. Why you ask, because, triumph told me this to me over phone, previous ICU the owners did from their computers and some of them had warranty issues, like burned up their motors. Just like old days, guys put pipes on bikes and did not re jet carbs, and sometimes burned things up. mostly they sounded bad and they lost power instead of gaining.

thanks for the info, im new to triumph--bought a 2015 Bonnie T214 last fall before the NY snow--just now starting to put some miles on it. I also have a 2010 harley wide glide, which has a supertuner (interface and software similar to Tune ECU) and i've tweaked that map up. Of course that setup cost $400 or so and is married to my bike. It's really nice (at least for some triumph owners--sorry turtleman) to have the Tune ECU program for free. I've been in contact with Bristish customs, as i am looking at their Sleepers mufflers. A guy there told me they are redesigning them and should be ready in about a month. He also said i would need the arrow 2 into 2 tune download. I ordered the cable and have the TUNE ECU software loaded and have been reading up on the procedure. thanks again for all your info
