We used to sing Swing Low at my very colonial school here is SA - I think it's one of those of hymns that transcended all borders because the words have such international meaning and of course, very spiritual.
The clips are great - personally and it is just my personal feeling, I love to hear a nation stand up and sing their anthem with pride no matter the occassion. But in sports, for me it means really getting behind your team. I've had tears in my eyes listening to England vs Scotland or France fans singing out their anthem - and SA wasn't even playing. I think that most people can identify whose playing by just hearing the anthems being sung and not even seeing the match. It's a universal recognition and for me, respect for another country.
