As you can see I struggled with a title of this post. What secret do you guys use after the rebuilt engine is mounted and ready to kick in terms of making sure the engine oil is completely throughout the system. It would be catastropic if the parts are moving without the oil lubricating them. In other words dry pumping.

If you thoroughly lubricated all parts during the assembly process this shouldn't be an issue. My suggestion...... remove spark plugs and pour a few drops of oil into each cylinder, then operate the kickstart for as long as you can in order to prime the oil pump and get some oil flowing.. Replace plugs and start the bike. Do not rev the engine.... just let it idle. Keep an eye on the tank return line to make sure that oil is being scavenged. If you see oil after a few seconds then all is well. If not, STOP THE ENGINE.
Does said bike have an oil pressure switch or indicator 'a la' Triumphs?
