Father's day is coming up on 19 June so every year we try to get in a club ride before that day so it doesn't interfere with any family plans. 11 June was the ride date this year.
The day dawned bright and sunny after a week of overcast skies and almost constant rain. More rain was coming later in the evening so this was the day to ride.
33 riders gathered at the meeting place on the edge of town on a great assortment of vintage bikes.
We headed down the coast along the Atlantic Ocean and pulled into the parking lot of a local restaurant for our first butt rest.
The red Honda Super Sport belongs to a prospective member who had come along for his first ride with us.
The next stop was at a Tim Hortons donut shop for another rest. The victory motorcycle was already there when we arrived and is not part of our group. They are nice enough bikes, but not our cup of tea.
We didn't stop at any oceanside venues so I don't have any pictures. We just rode along enjoying the twisty roads and the scenery. Our destination was the seaside cottage of a club member who was waiting with a huge pot of hot chili, buns, garlic bread and coffee. Needless to say that after a few hours in the saddle the chili didn't last long!
There was one new bike on the scene - this Triton. The owner is from England and built it there in 1969, but it was off the road for a very long time until he revived it this winter. It looks and sounds great!
Some riders had come long distances to join the ride, but for me it was 153 miles on my BSA VR.
