Took my son to get his licenses sorted out and we needed a few head/shoulder photos on a white background. So this is how we do it Jozi-Africa style - no point in going to a photographic studio when you can do it on the street

Don't worry I just turned my monitor on it's side and now it all looks fine

How do they get the photo from the camera to you then to use

Thanks Dave! It's all very darn clever. They use a memory card in the camera - take the pic - take the memory card out of the camera and insert it into a photo-printer that has a little screen built in so they can see the photo - it's all pre-sized etc. But the best part of it all it that the printer is connected to a car battery for power! Ingenious actually. Only in Africa!

And they make a little cash killing too. About 50 photos a day at R120 a pop - tax free - not bad at all.

Except for passport photos which have to be certified by the photographer, I do the same thing for other photo ID I need.
The DMV here take our drivers licence photo for free.
